Where did the cimmerians live?

The Cimmerians were an ancient nomadic people who lived in the region north of the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea in present-day southern Russia and modern-day Ukraine. They inhabited the area from the Don River in the east to the Dnieper River in the west, and from the Sea of Azov in the south to the forest-steppe zone in the north.
