Location of Snake River Canyon

Snake River Canyon is primarily located in southern Idaho, USA, with small portions extending into eastern Oregon and western Wyoming. The canyon follows the Snake River as it flows west across the Snake River Plain, a volcanic depression formed by the Yellowstone hotspot. Notable sections include the Twin Falls area (Shoshone Falls, Perrine Bridge) and Hells Canyon (North America's deepest river gorge, on the Idaho-Oregon border). The canyon reaches depths of 500+ meters and widths up to 16 km.
