Trinidad and Tobago: Southern Caribbean

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago comprises two main islands:

• Trinidad – larger, industrial, 11 km (6.8 mi) off Venezuela’s northeast coast.
• Tobago – smaller, tourism-focused, northeast of Trinidad.

It lies south of Grenada and Barbados, on the South American continental shelf.
