West Quoddy Head, Maine (44°48′55″N, 66°56′59″W) is the easternmost point of the 48 contiguous United States.

• West Quoddy Head Light (1858) – iconic red-and-white striped lighthouse.
• ~1.2 miles (2 km) east of Lubec village.
• Not the easternmost U.S. point overall—that's Point Udall, St. Croix, USVI (17°45′N, 64°34′W).

Why "West" Quoddy?

Named relative to East Quoddy Head on Campobello Island, Canada (Franklin D. Roosevelt's summer home). The international border splits the Quoddy peninsula.

Visiting

Quoddy Head State Park offers trails, cliffs, whale watching (summer), and the "easternmost" photo op. Sunrise here is the first in the continental U.S.
