Where is Corinth located?

The ancient city of Corinth was located on the Isthmus of Corinth, which is a narrow strip of land that connects the Peloponnese peninsula with mainland Greece. The city was situated in the region called Achaea, which was part of ancient Greece. Today, the region is part of the modern Greek region of the Peloponnese. The ancient city of Corinth is located near the modern city of Corinth, approximately 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Athens, the capital of Greece.
