Where is damascus?

Damascus is the capital and largest city of Syria, located in southwestern Syria. It is situated in the southern part of the country, approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) northeast of the border with Jordan and 145 kilometers (90 miles) southeast of the Mediterranean Sea.
