Were there other cities in Texas besides Austin that served as a capital well?

Austin has been the capital of Texas since 1839. Prior to that, the following cities served as the capital of the Republic of Texas and the State of Texas:

- Washington-on-the-Brazos (1836)

- Velasco (1836)

- Harrisburg (1837)

- Columbia (1837)

- Houston (1837-1839)

However, Austin has been the longest-serving capital of Texas and has served as the state's capital for over 180 years.
