The Arctic Circle Does Not Pass Through Any U.S. State

The Arctic Circle (≈66.5°N) crosses Alaska, but Alaska is a state, not a "state" in the lower-48 sense. It also crosses Canada, Russia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Greenland (Denmark). No U.S. state in the contiguous 48 lies within the Arctic Circle. The circle marks the latitude where the sun is visible at midnight at least once a year.
