How is Venice connected to mainland Italy?

The mainland of Italy and Venice are connected by a causeway called Ponte della Libertà (Bridge of Liberty). This causeway is about 4 kilometers long and crosses the Venetian Lagoon. It is a highway and a railway track, allowing vehicles and trains to travel between Venice and the mainland. The causeway carries both vehicles and trains to Venice.
