Hotels in Marsala, Sicily

The historic town of Marsala in the westernmost point of Sicily is known for its sweet dessert wines. The town's name originated during the 9th century Arab conquest; after landing on the coastal settlement, the Arabs called it Marsa Allah, which means "Port of God." The town offers 22 miles of coastline, salt flats the windmills of "Via del Sale," and the small isle of Mothia. Visitors to Marsala find most accommodations near the town center.
