Scandinavia as One of the Nordic Regions

Scandinavia and the Nordic Countries

Yes. Scandinavia is one of the five Nordic countries (or Nordic region), along with:

• Denmark
• Finland
• Iceland
• Norway

Clarification

• Scandinavia (strict): Norway, Sweden, Denmark (shared language roots, history).
• Nordic countries: Scandinavia + Finland + Iceland (+ autonomous territories: Faroe Islands, Greenland, Åland).
• Sometimes "Scandinavia" is used loosely to mean all five.

The Nordic Council facilitates cooperation among all five sovereign states.
