Currency Used in Belgium: The Euro

Belgium uses the Euro (€) as its official currency. The country joined the Eurozone in 1999 and physically adopted euro banknotes and coins on January 1, 2002, replacing the Belgian franc (BEF).

As a founding member of the European Union, Belgium participates in the single currency system, which facilitates seamless trade, travel, and financial transactions across the 20 Eurozone member states.
