How many Christians in Europe?

As of 2020, Christianity is the largest religion in Europe, with an estimated 539 million adherents, representing about 76.2% of the total population. However, the Pew Research Center projects that by 2050, the Christian population in Europe will decline to 492 million, or 65.2% of the total population, due to a combination of factors such as declining birth rates, increasing secularization, and immigration from non-Christian countries.
