What parts of Europe is most affected by the reformation?

The Reformation had its greatest impact in central and northern Europe. This was due to a number of factors, including:

* The presence of strong intellectual and cultural centers in these regions, such as the universities of Wittenberg and Leipzig in Germany, and the University of Cambridge in England.

* The support of powerful political leaders, such as Martin Luther in Germany, Henry VIII in England, and Christian III in Denmark.

* The growth of printing, which allowed for the rapid dissemination of Protestant ideas.

As a result of these factors, the Reformation quickly spread throughout central and northern Europe. By the middle of the 16th century, Protestantism had become the dominant religion in many of these regions.

Southern Europe

The Reformation had a less significant impact in southern Europe. This was due to a number of factors, including:

* The strong presence of the Catholic Church in these regions, which was able to resist the spread of Protestant ideas.

* The lack of support from powerful political leaders.

* The absence of strong intellectual and cultural centers that could promote Protestant ideas.

As a result of these factors, the Reformation made little headway in southern Europe. Catholicism remained the dominant religion in these regions, and Protestantism remained a relatively small minority.

Eastern Europe

The Reformation also had a limited impact in eastern Europe. This was due to a number of factors, including:

* The strong influence of the Orthodox Church in these regions, which was opposed to Protestant ideas.

* The lack of support from powerful political leaders.

* The absence of strong intellectual and cultural centers that could promote Protestant ideas.

As a result of these factors, the Reformation made little headway in eastern Europe. Orthodoxy remained the dominant religion in these regions, and Protestantism remained a relatively small minority.
