Romantic Italian Gifts

Giving a romantic gift can be appropriate on Valentine's Day or for a special anniversary you and a loved one share. Giving an Italian-inspired gift immediately ups the romance factor, as the country is often associated with all things love. There are a number of Italian gifts you can choose to show your significant other how much you care.
  1. Lace

    • Lace fabric is a traditional gift given to a woman, and lace from Italy's Tuscan region will always be cherished as a romantic keepsake. Particularly in Florence, Italian cities produce homemade lace and export it for use in tablecloths, clothing and blankets, and you can order a sheet of the lace online or pick some up when you're on vacation. Better yet, look for antique Italian lace, which is romantic and whimsical and gives a vintage feel.

    Glass

    • Italian glass is a world-renowned product used for dishware, vases and even jewelry. Murano glass is incredibly famous, and is made on the island of Murano in Venice. It is recognizable for bright colors and patterns and is often made into pendants to be worn around the neck as a necklace. Murano glass can be found in specialty stores and home good stores, and it makes a very romantic gesture.

    Wine

    • Drinking wine by candlelight is one of the most quintessentially romantic activities. A bottle of Italian wine is a sweet present, made even more so when the bottle comes from an area that has special meaning for you and your loved one. Perhaps you honeymooned in the Chianti region or you drank a nice bottle of barolo the night you got engaged. Have a bottle or two on hand for a special dinner you've planned, and keep the cork and bottle as a memento.
