St. Jean Cathedral, with its 13th century stained glass windows and 14th century astronomical clock, is a somber-looking cathedral located in the St. Jean quarter of Lyon and overlooking the Soane river. The cathedral is a medieval history lesson in itself. Built over a period of 300 years, the cathedral features a late Gothic facade and houses an archaeological garden. The cathedral still holds services daily and all are free to attend.
