Opened in 1945, Perillo Tours specializes in guided tours of Italy, Israel and Hawaii. One of its most sought after locations is the island of Sicily.   1. 9-Day Deluxe Sicily

    • The 9-day Sicily trip starts off with three nights in Palermo, where guests can explore the ancient architecture, culture and notable restaurants. A guide will lead a tour of Palmermo, as well as Noto, Siracusa and Marsala, where guests visit a winery specializing in Marsala wine. The following four days are spent in Taormina, a unique cultural location blending Greek and Asian influences. Home to Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, Taormina is well known for its bike paths and hiking. Guests can swim, snorkel or just explore the culture. Experienced tour guides can direct visitors to sites, restaurants and other attractions.

      Tour fees include deluxe hotel accommodation, airport transfers, daily buffet breakfast, five dinners, one lunch, wine tasting and tour directors for each stop.     14-Day South and Sicily

    • A tour presented by Perillo and CM Travel, the 14-day trip takes guests past several of southern Italy's finest cities and villages. Fully escorted by experienced guides, the trip starts in Sicily's capital of Palermo, where guests can visit historic architectural sites, museums and restaurants. Side trips into Monreale, Selinunte and Marsala are included, and guests can sample wine from local wineries. The following two days are spent exploring Siracusa, an ancient Greek city, and Taormina. Bike tours, hikes and trips up Mount Etna are all available, as are boat trips and historic sites.

      Following the tour of Sicily, guests can catch a boat to the mainland at Calabria, up the Amalfi Coast and to the island of Capri. Several historic sites, including the Coliseum and the Roman Forum are toured, both of which are guided by experience Perillo guides. Available side trips can be arranged including one through the Roman catacombs. Included in the fees are airfare, hotel accommodation, daily buffet breakfast, all sightseeing trips, wireless headsets and a gala with cocktails on the closing night. Prices vary by date and departure location.

    7-night Mediterranean Cruise

    • Added to the Perillo portfolio in 2008, the Mediterranean seven night cruise takes place on the MSC Splendida, a luxury liner outfitted with top-end restaurants, rooms and equipment. Guest aboard the ship have unlimited access to gourmet dining, full service fitness center, swimming pool and entertainment venue. The seven night tour begins and ends in Rome, and takes visitors to several of Europe's finest ports in between. One day is spent at each location, and stops include Genoa, Marseille and Barcelona. The seventh and eighth days are spent exploring La Valletta in Malta before moving on to Messina in Sicily. Messina is considered Sicily's gateway, and most major tourist spots, historic sites and markets are easily accessible. Visitors to the island can arrange hikes, bike rides, and tours of Mount Etna, as well as make reservations at local wineries and restaurants. As of April 2010, the cost of the tour starts at $3,545 per person and includes two nights' accommodation in Rome, airfare and all cruise costs.
