The Glacier Express is considered the most popular rail tour in Switzerland. The train tour consists of seven and a half hours of scenery, ranging from mountains and rivers to luxurious spas and historic villages. The "Express" title of the tour is misleading; this is one of the longer rail tours in Switzerland. The Glacier Express remains known for its ride throughout the picturesque Swiss Alps. Trains run daily through winter and several times in the summer. Local trains often cover shorter segments of the tour for those who want a shorter trip.
