How to Visit London on a Budget

Many people dream of going to London and Europe on vacation. If you just use a little imagination, it is completely possible to make that dream come true.

      Start planning your trip well ahead of time without setting an exact date. Sign up for travel offers from different web sites that send out email newsletters regularly. Watch these closely as they often send out specials to fly to London.

      You could get a flight as low as $300. This is less than it would cost to fly across the U.S.

      A number of the most popular sites to see in London, are just that, sites. And that makes them free to see.

      For example go to Buckingham Palace and see the daily changing of the guard ceremony. Note: If the Queen is in the Palace the Royal Standard will be flying, if she's away the British Union Jack flag will be flying instead.

      Also, be sure and visit the famous Big Ben Clock.

      Many of London's museums offer free admission. This includes the oldest museum in London, the British Museum which was established in 1753. Other popular free museums in London include: The Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum...the list goes on and on as there are over 200 museums and a majority of them offer free entry.

      The Tower Bridge (often people think this is called London Bridge), is a definite must see attraction. Just seeing the bridge is an excellent site, but if you want to go into the Tower Bridge Exhibition it is a mere £6.00.

      And finally, the cheapest way to get around in London is by purchasing an Oyster Card and traveling on the Underground Public Transportation system.
