How to Travel to Ephesus, Greece

Ephesus was a vibrant city of ancient Greece and Rome famed for its beauty and wealth. It was widely known for its Temple of Artemis, one the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Today Ephesus is in Turkey near the city of Selcuk in Izmar Province. Traveling to Selcuk is fairly easy with several ways to get there.

      Book your flight online by stating your destination as Izmir, Turkey - Adnan Menderes (ADB). The Adnan Mederes airport is in Izmir, Turkey about 20 miles (55 kilometers) northwest of Selcuk.

      When you arrive at the Adnan Mederes airport, you have several options to get to Selcuk.

      Find the Otogar bus terminal. Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes from the airport to Selcuk. After arriving at the airport in Izmir, look for signs to the Otogar bus terminal. Ask for the Selcuk minibus. It costs seven lira to get from Izmir to Selcuk by minibus, and the ride takes a little less than an hour.

      Find the Basmane Train station located at the Izmir airport. Trains run four times daily from Izmir (Basmane Station) to Selcuk.

      Look for taxis outside the Izmir airport terminal. Taxi fares from Izmir to Selcuk will be around 10 lira, but will be faster because they don't have any other stops on the way.
