Munich is the capital city of Bavaria and the largest city in the southern part of Germany. Famous architecture, cultural events and the city's rich history bring visitors from all over the world to visit Munich. Lonely Planet notes however that "despite all its sophistication, Munich retains a touch of provincialism that visitors find charming."
