Why do Northern Ireland and England sing the same National Anthem?

England and Northern Ireland do not sing the same National Anthem. England's National Anthem is called "God Save the Queen," while Northern Ireland's National Anthem is called "God Save the King." While the anthems share the same tune, the different lyrics reflect the separate political identities of England and Northern Ireland as part of the broader entity of the United Kingdom.
