Ireland also has vast stretches of plains, particularly in the central and eastern parts of the country. These plains are ideal for agriculture and are often referred to as the "midlands." The most extensive plain in Ireland is the Central Plain, which covers much of County Meath and County Kildare.
As for deserts, Ireland does not have any true deserts. However, it does have areas with a semi-arid climate and sandy soils, such as the Burren region in County Clare. The Burren is known for its unique landscape of limestone pavements, grasslands, and wildflowers, and is considered a semi-arid karst region.
