Where is Merida?

Mérida is the capital and largest city of the state of Yucatán in Mexico. It is located in the northwest of the state, about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of the Gulf of Mexico. The city is situated in a relatively flat area, with an average altitude of 10 metres (33 ft) above sea level. Mérida is the economic, cultural and political centre of the Yucatán Peninsula, and it is one of the most important cities in Mexico.
