Why Mexico settle Texas with its own citizens?
Mexico did not settle Texas with its own citizens. In the early 19th century, Mexico encouraged foreign immigration to Texas, particularly from the United States. This was done in order to populate the region, which was sparsely populated at the time, and to boost the economy. As a result, the majority of settlers in Texas were from the United States.
