The Niños Héroes were six cadetes who gave their lives in battle against the United States during the Battle of Chapultepec on September 13, 1847. They are celebrated in Mexico every September 13 on a day known as Día de los Niños Héroes, or The Day of the Boy Heroes. Events take place all across Mexico, including a traditional ceremony in Mexico City's Chapultepec Park, where the boys fought.
