How did the Spanish give name Florida can you be specific?
In 1513, Juan Ponce de León led an expedition to North America in search of the legendary Fountain of Youth. He landed on the coast of Florida during Easter week, when the region was decorated with colorful flowers. In Spanish, "Pascua Florida" means "flowery Easter," so Ponce de León named the newly discovered land "Florida." The name later was anglicized when Florida became a British colony.
