Visit Macao Beach, one of the largest beaches in the Punta Cana area. Stay at the Moon Palace Casino, Golf and Spa Resort if you want to be right next to the waters. Lie on the sand and get a tan, or jump into the ocean for a swim. In the region you will also find 13 pools with swim-up bars, restaurants, regular bars, 18 holes of championship golf, a nightclub, theater, spa and a plethora of dolphin shows.
Another one of Punta Cana's top six beaches is Arena Gorda Beach. If you are looking for something a little bit more adventurous, consider going here. You can go kayaking or give sailing a try. If sporting is not for you, relax on the sand and get a tan, or dive into the cool waters for a swim.
At El Cortecito, you will experience the small town vibe of a fishing village. This beachfront community extends over 20 miles (about 35 kilometers), so there is plenty of space for exploration. Eat dinner at D'Angelos Italian Restaurant, Bali Cana or La Cava Wine Bar. Other attractions in the region include helicopter tours, deep-sea fishing, zip-lining, speed boats, safari and dolphins.
Visitors to Bavaro Beach rave about the smooth, white sand. Plenty of excitement awaits you here, as vendors line the areas. Since there is a variety of popular resorts here, consider booking a few nights' stay at establishments such as the Bavaro Beach Resort or the Paradise Hotel, located right on the beaches.
For a real tropical experience, head over to Cabeza de Toro. Gorgeous palm trees line the beach only a few feet away from the shoreline. You might even feel like you are on your very own island, since the canopy of the trees provides a very intimate setting right next to the water.
Tourists reign in the Cabo Engano region, which is a very long stretch of sandy beach. Plenty of vendors will great you, and you will have the opportunity to purchase cigars or handmade craft items. If you are seeking historical adventure during your trip, consider making your way to the nearby Cabo Engano lighthouse.
