Things to see in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is a new resort town off the coast of the Dominican Republic. Geared toward tourists, this resort and club offers a secluded beach getaway and vacation.
  1. Golf and Spa

    • Punta Cana offers world-class golf and spa services to its tourists. Punta Cana hired two world-renowned architects to design three golf courses adjacent to the Caribbean Sea. These courses are La Cana Golf Course, Corales Golf Course and Hacienda Golf Course. These courses are only reserved for Punta Cana guests.

Punta Cana also has Six Senses Spa. Packages include seaweed wraps, facials, massages, hot stone therapy and exercise activities. There are also packages for multiple day usage.

    Wildlife Preserve

    • Besides being a seaside resort, Punta Cana includes an ecological park. Indigenous Eyes is over 1,500 acres of preserved rain forest and beachfront property. Butterflies, exotic birds and marine animals are easily observed from the many nature trails. Tropical flowers are among the attractions in this park. There are well over 500 different plant species; 36 percent of those are found only in the Dominican Republic. Tours of this park are only for guests of the Punta Cana resort.

    Nightlife

    • Punta Cana offers a diverse nightlife for its tourists. Mangu, in the Punta Cana area, is a world famous dance club. The floors are divided by musical genre, with the first floor being dominated by hip-hop, reggaeton and meringue music. The second floor plays house beats, trance and techno music. This spot is the most popular club in Punta Canta; it opens at 11 p.m. and does not close until people start leaving. The Mascara Bar is more of a lounge environment. Latin music is played in the background; however, instead of a dance floor, Mascara has tables, couches and extra seating for sitting and socializing. Replete with a full bar, this club is a popular destination for Punta Cana tourists. For more information on Punta Cana's nightlife, see the Resource link.

    Dining

    • Punta Cana offers a plethora of restaurants. The Jellyfish Restaurant, with its architecture (built to look like a high class reed beach hut), beach background and four-star cuisine, make it one of Punta Cana's most popular dining sites. Cocoloba, a four-star restaurant, was designed by Oscar de la Renta to evoke the spirit of the Dominican culture and cuisine. Offering high quality food indicative of Latin America and the Dominican Republic, tourists craving an authentic taste of Hispanic foods flock to this local. Perched over the Caribbean Sea, La Yola is a four-star restaurant specializing in Mediterranean cuisine ranging from pastas to humus. The reed thatched roof and wraparound decks connect this restaurant to the sea where the fresh seafood is fished. See the Resource link for more information.
