Cruise Excursions to Puerto Chiapas, Mexico

Puerto Chiapas is the gateway to touring the ancient civilization sites at Izapa, exploring rain forests and absorbing local culture. Just north of the Guatemalan border, four major cruise lines dock here. Tourists typically have a day for relaxation, shopping and touring. Local excursions are available to area beaches, the commercial city of Tapachula, and to nearby archaeological ruins of the ancient Mayan (including world-famous Palenque), Izapa and Olmec civilizations.

Lauderdale through the Panama Canal, they make stops at 10 to 12 Mexican cities including an all-day stop at Puerto Chiapas. In spring they reposition from the Caribbean to the Pacific West, reversing their itinerary. The cruises are from 15 to 30 days long.
