What is the source of Rio Grande River?

The Rio Grande begins high in the San Juan Mountains in southwestern Colorado. Several creeks high in the rugged volcanic peaks combine to form the headwaters of the river system at an elevation of approximately 13,000 feet above sea level (3,962 meters).
