3. Better: Mexicali → MX-5 S → MX-2D → La Rumorosa (scary grade) → Ensenada → MX-1D (toll) → Guerrero Negro → Mulegé → Loreto → Ciudad Insurgentes → La Paz (ferry to Mazatlán? No — continue mainland)
4. Actually efficient route: Yuma → Phoenix → I-10 E → I-25 S → MX-15D (Nogales crossing) → MX-15D/MX-15 → Guadalajara → MX-54D → Manzanillo

Mexico's busiest Pacific port, deep-sea fishing capital, all-inclusive resorts (Las Hadas, Karmina), Santiago Peninsula beaches. Not a casual drive from Arizona — fly unless you're overlanding.
