Long Island vs. Staten Island: Distinct Islands in New York

Long Island and Staten Island are two separate islands in New York State. Long Island is a large island stretching eastward from New York City, comprising Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. Staten Island is a smaller island to the southwest, forming one of NYC's five boroughs.
