  1. Les Alpes

    • This authentic French restaurant run by Anne-Marie and Serge Guilhaumou serves typical French cuisine in a casual, cozy atmosphere. Les Alpes also functions as a bakery, patisserie and wine cellar, with over 80 selections from the important wine regions of France. Start of with Les Alpes' classic escargot, which is flambeed in anise liqueur and fennel or with garlic and parsley butter. Main courses are just as appetizing, with selections like rack of New Zealand lamb with garlic sauce and tomatoes provencal, venison served with hazelnuts and cracked pepper sauce, and classic boeuf bourguignon served over linguine pasta. Les Alpes features live jazz performed by local musicians every Friday.

    Dux de Lux

    • Founded in 1978 in Christchurch, Dux de Lux has expanded to include this popular location in the heart of Queenstown. Part restaurant and part live music venue, Dux de Lux uses New Zealand produce exclusively and offers a wide range of vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. Start your meal with some vegetarian nachos, prawn tails wrapped in golden filo, served with garlic plum sauce; or, a warm salad of kumara, pumpkin cashews and seasonal veggies topped with feta walnut dressing. Continue on to a classic beer-battered fish and chips, New Zealand mussels steamed in lemon, garlic and dry Riesling or roasted rump of lamb. Things get rowdy on weekends when the bar fills up and bands rock out late into the night.
