RV Parks in Queenstown, New Zealand

Queenstown is New Zealand's adventure capital, a four-season mecca for adventure sportsmen and tourists, says the Queenstown Tourism website. Overseas visitors who hire a recreational vehicle (RV) to tour New Zealand discover Queenstown has many camping grounds for powered RV sites. RV campers wanting a wilderness experience will find the New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC) maintains relatively cheap campsites in genuinely remote areas.

    Twelve Mile Delta

    • Lake Wakatipu looking west

DOC maintains a campsite suitable for RVs at Twelve Mile Delta. At 11 kilometers (6 miles) west of Queenstown, it is closer than the name suggests. It’s a standard campsite, which means composting or pit toilets, a water supply, picnic tables and cooking shelter, as well rubbish bins. The 36 sites are on Lake Wakatipu and regenerating forest surrounds the camp.
