What was the reason for finding Connecticut?

Connecticut was founded by English Puritans who were seeking religious freedom. They first arrived in the area in 1633 and established the Connecticut Colony. The colony grew quickly and became an important center of trade and commerce. In 1788, Connecticut was one of the first states to ratify the United States Constitution.
