Arcadia Historical Society? It’s in Oklahoma, Not Newark, NY

Common mix-up. The Arcadia Historical Society is located in Arcadia, Oklahoma — not Newark, New York.

Correct Address

200 W. Sixth Street
Arcadia, OK 73007

Why the Confusion?

• “Arcadia” exists in multiple states (NY, OH, WI, FL, etc.).
• Newark, NY has its own historical society (Arcadia Historical Society of Newark — different entity).

What the OK Society Offers

• Route 66 artifacts (Arcadia is a Mother Road gem)
• Round Barn (1898) — iconic landmark they maintain
• Local genealogy, photos, oral histories
• Open by appointment / events

If you’re researching Oklahoma’s Route 66 heritage, this is your stop. If you meant Newark, NY — look for the Arcadia Historical Society of Newark instead.
