What Indians lived in New Jersey?

- These regions encompassed more than twenty villages or bands including Minisink, Munsee, Esopus, Hackensack, and Raritan (Raretank) who formed a loose confederacy

- Originally an alliance of Algonquian tribes in the coastal area of what is now the U.S. state of Virginia.

- Their lands were to the south of modern-day New Jersey
