Does Batman Live in New York?

No. Batman operates in Gotham City, a fictional metropolis inspired by Chicago's architecture and New York's density—but it is not New York. DC Comics places Gotham in New Jersey (across from Metropolis), though its depiction borrows heavily from both real cities.
