Who is the Hudson River hero?
The Hudson River hero is Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger III. He is an American former airline pilot who is best known for his heroic actions in the successful emergency landing of US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River off Manhattan on January 15, 2009. The crash-landing of the Airbus A320, which had struck a flock of Canada geese after takeoff from New York City's LaGuardia Airport, resulted in the survival of all 155 passengers and crew members on board.
