Kids will enjoy the highly interactive setup of Seaside Aquarium. A "Touch Tank" allows kids to physically handle sea creatures; such as starfish, sea anemones and sea urchins. The museum also allows children to interact with 11 spirited seals, who love to perform for food. Guided marine education tours are available for school-age children upon request. The aquarium offers half-price rates for children between the ages of 6 to 13, and is free for kids five and younger. Family group rates are also available.
Funland Arcade and Family Fun Park are two Seaside locations that offer hours of entertainment geared specifically towards kids. Funland Arcade is located on the corner of Broadway and Columbia, right in the heart of Seaside. Some of their offerings include Skeeball, air hockey, and a wide variety of video games. Family Fun Park is located on Highway 101, just south of the downtown area. This is the place to go when the kids are itching for go-karts, bumper boats, and miniature golf.
Seaside Beach is the biggest draw for tourists, young and old. Let your kids splash and play in the Pacific Ocean on Seaside's three mile stretch of beach. There is also a 1.5-mile promenade along the beach, where kids can enjoy roller skating, skateboarding, and playing with the numerous dogs that get walked there every day.
Seaside offers numerous opportunities for children to experience sea hunting firsthand. Take your kids crabbing on the 12th Avenue bridge, help them dig for razor clams along the coastline, or fish for salmon and steelhead during the winter and fall.
