What is Arkansas region?

Arkansas is a south central state of the United States, bordered by Missouri to the north, Tennessee and Mississippi to the east, Louisiana to the south, Texas and Oklahoma to the west.

Arkansas is divided into four distinct geographical regions:

1) The Ozark Plateaus: This region covers the northern part of the state and is characterized by rugged Ozark Mountains with rolling hills, deep valleys, and clear streams. The highest point in Arkansas, Mount Magazine, is located in this region.

2) The Ouachita Mountains: This region lies in the west-central part of the state and is known for its densely forested Ouachita Mountains. The Ouachitas are a series of parallel ridges and valleys, with the highest peak being Mount Ouachita.

3) The Arkansas River Valley: This fertile region runs through the center of the state, following the course of the Arkansas River. The Arkansas River Valley is known for its rich agricultural lands and bustling cities, including Little Rock, the state capital.

4) The Gulf Coastal Plain: This region encompasses the southern part of Arkansas and extends into the Mississippi Alluvial Plain. The Gulf Coastal Plain is characterized by flat, fertile land, with abundant natural resources such as oil, natural gas, and timber.
