Bourbon Street Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas, Nevada

The Bourbon Street Hotel and Casino had a short life in Las Vegas. It was built in 1980 before being bought up by another casino company in 2005 and ultimately demolished in 2006.
  1. Opening

    • The Bourbon Street Casino originally opened off the Las Vegas strip in 1980 as the Shenandoah. Among the casino's investors was Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton.

    Rebranding

    • The casino was rebranded in 1985 as the New Orleans-themed Bourbon Street Hotel and Casino. The casino had been bought up by a Canadian company after a checkered management history with Newton's group.

    Demolition

    • Harrah's bought the Bourbon Street in 2005 as part of a larger land deal. The company closed the casino in October of 2005, and the building was imploded in Feb. 2006.
