The Bourbon Street Casino originally opened off the Las Vegas strip in 1980 as the Shenandoah. Among the casino's investors was Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton.
The casino was rebranded in 1985 as the New Orleans-themed Bourbon Street Hotel and Casino. The casino had been bought up by a Canadian company after a checkered management history with Newton's group.
Harrah's bought the Bourbon Street in 2005 as part of a larger land deal. The company closed the casino in October of 2005, and the building was imploded in Feb. 2006.
