The Lady Luck Casino opened in 1964. Steadfast AMX sold two floors of the hotel rooms as time-shares in 2002. The CIM Group of Los Angeles, Calif., bought the hotel and casino in 2007.
The casino was just off Fremont Street at the corner of Ogden and Third.
The Lady Luck Casino and Hotel closed its doors in 2006, and the owners promised great renovations to both.
In July 2009, the first step toward renovation began with the demolition of part of the hotel and casino.
The casino owners must show substantial renovations beyond demolishing the building by December 2009 in order to reap rewards from the city including the donation of nearby land.
The casino maintained the early 60s feel and decor through the turn of the century, with drawings for the opportunity to grab cash in a wind booth similar to the one on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
