Planting Fields is a not-for-profit educational foundation and public garden. This 409-acre park houses a number of historic structures and landscape features. Planting Fields is the former estate of William Robertson Coe and Standard Oil heiress Mai Rogers Coe. The park grounds are open daily from 9 am to 5 pm and are wheelchair accessible. There is a $6 parking fee. Coe Halls offers both guided and self directed tours from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. The tour fee is $3.50 and children under 12 are free. The ticket price also includes admission to The Manor House as of April 2010. The guided tour focuses on the lives of the servants during the 1920s and explores their living quarters, kitchen areas and more. The main greenhouse features seasonal exhibits, as well as orchids, cacti and palms among other plants. It is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. There is also a greenhouse dedicated solely to camellias. The Garden Library, in the Hay Barn complex, features a collection dedicated to horticulture. The park also features a gift shop and a Garden café in the Visitor Center. The café is open weekends 11 am to 3 pm.

On Tuesdays in the summer from 5 pm to 10 pm car and motorcycle lovers take over Audrey Avenue. Collectors bring their project vehicles out for public viewing while downtown restaurants and stores stay open late. Spectator admission is free. The Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce sponsors these events, which sometimes feature other attractions like bands.

The WaterFront Center is dedicated to educating people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to actively take care of and enjoy Oyster Bay. They offer summer camps for kids and teens to educate them in responsibility and caring for the environment. They also offer courses on marine safety, such as private sailing and kayaking lessons starting at $120. During the school year they offer theme field trips on subjects like sea creatures, horseshoe crabs, alternative energy and harbor habitat.
