The Buffalo Museum of Science has been in business since 1929. It's objective is to inspire curiosity. Open seven days a week, the museum offers a 3-D auditorium theater, a dinosaur exhibit and a hands-on explorations gallery. In 2010, some scheduled children's events included a robotic dinosaur event and an overnight, museum sleepover.

Enjoy a reading series for children at the Barnes and Nobles at McKinley Mall in Buffalo, New York. This free reading series takes place at the Winnie-the-Pooh tree house. This massive zoo boasts more than 1,000 animals. The Buffalo Zoo has a children's zoo and sponsors children's events such as "The Zoo Snooze," an overnight event at the zoo for parents and children. The Buffalo Zoo is open every day, rain or shine. The exceptions are Mondays and Tuesdays in January and February. It is also closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving.
