Cape Charles Beach is located at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, 10 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The waters at Cape Charles Beach are calm and shallow, making them ideal for children. Mothers are able to relax while their children play in the sand or in the large wading pools of the beach.
The city of Cape Charles was founded in 1884 and is has one of the largest concentrations of late-Victorian architecture in the East Coast. The town features a small town harbor and it also serves as a terminal for barges that carry cars across the Bay to Norfolk.
