How to Visit Gatorland in Florida

If you are fascinated by alligators and want to get up close and personal, you may want to consider a visit to Gatorland in Florida. One of the most exciting places to get "hands on" with 'gators in the south. You will learn a lot about alligators in a very short time and see them in action.

      Plan out some time to visit Gatorland while you are in Florida. Realize it may take four to six hours, not including stops for lunch, shopping and other general sightseeing.

      Present your AAA card at the Gatorland admission gate. There are also other discounts for seniors, military and Florida resident yearly passes.

      Walk or ride the train for an extra fee through the park. You can even see the park both ways, as there is no time limit. The train is a replica of an old-fashioned black steam engine.

      Stop by and visit the many shows, including Gator wrestling and feeding. You will be sure to be amazed at how fast these reptiles move, even when they appear to be sleeping.

      Feed and touch the gators yourself, under close watch of the trainers, of course. You will enjoy this thrill. It is recommended for teens and adults that are very brave.

      Stroll around the grounds and visit the other animals in the zoo or have a picnic with the Gators in a parklike environment.
