The Carnegie Arts Center has a year-round program of visual art exhibitions by both local and national artists. The Annual Spring Juried Art Show and Sale takes place between March and May and showcases the work of young local artists. There are also numerous instances of publicly displayed art in the city which change throughout the year, but visit Broadway City Hall and Monte Vista Crossings to view what is currently on display. The Comfort Suites Hotel on North Tully Road is ideally located for art lovers, as it's just a few minutes drive away from the Carnegie Arts Center.
Turlock is a haven for sports enthusiasts. Aside from many of the city's parks having basketball and tennis courts, there are running fields, soccer fields and two large sport complexes (Pedretti Sports Complex and Turlock Regional Sports Complex) which are available for hire and are often used for tournaments. Crane Park is Turlock's oldest and most popular. Every summer the Stanislaus County Fair takes place with concerts, a rodeo, kids' activities and a carnival.
