Healthy Retreats in the Georgia Mountains

The mountainous region of north Georgia has spectacular scenery, rich history and a unique culture. Early Cherokee inhabitants called the mountains "The Enchanted Land." In 1911, after the mountains had been denuded by logging and mining, the federal government started buying land; to eventually create the Chattahoochee National Forest. The 750,000 acre resource covers 18 counties and is managed to be productive, yet protective. It is the perfect setting for a relaxing retreat.
